The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ November 1, 2006, p.A20 William Sharp, 89, passed away on Oct. 27 in Phoenix, Ariz., under the care of Hospice of the Valley. He was born on Dec. 24, 1916 in Brownsville, Pa. William will be remembered for his belief in God's goodness, enthusiasm for life, helpfulness to others and infectious humor. We all thank God for knowing him. He is survived by his spouse of 69 years Marie Sharp; his children William (Judith) Sharp, David Sharp CSB, Bonnie (Charles) Farrugia, Jane (Jeremy) Cohen, Noreen Sharp, O.P. and family friends, Frances Wetzel, O.P., and Betty Wetzel. William also leaves behind his sister Ruth Glispin and brother James Sharp. His grandchildren are Billie-Jeanne (Robert John) Thompson, Maureen Sharp (James Carrol), Matthew (Jennifer) Farrugia, Justin (Cynthia) Sharp, Carolyn Farrugia, Becky (Adam) Powers, Paul Farrugia, and Miles Cohen. His great grandchildren are John-William and Curtis Thompson; Alexander, Cassandra and Victoria Sharp; and Jarvis Carrol. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Monday (Oct. 30) at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Glendale. Interment followed at Holy Redeemer Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to the Saint Vincent de Paul Society. |
