Edwin Allan (Ed) Larsen

Edwin Allan Larsen of Congress, Ariz., entered into heaven on Monday, Oct. 16 after a battle with cancer. He passed away under the care of the Family Hospice Care in Peoria, Ariz. He will be truly missed as he touched so many lives.

Ed was born Oct. 18, 1941 in Minneapolis, Minn. Ed was an ordained minister of the Lutheran Church. He had many good qualities and enjoyed cooking and gardening, and enjoyed his life.

He was a volunteer for the Red Cross in Wickenburg in 1994 where he picked up seniors for the Wise Owl Senior Center. He delivered Meals on Wheels and thoroughly enjoyed his work. He was an active volunteer for the Red Cross and senior center for more than 11 years. It was through the senior center where he met and married Shirley. Ed and Shirley were married for 12 wonderful years.

Ed is survived by his wife Shirley; mother Rose Ann Freer; stepfather Ray Freer; stepmother Keath Naugle; son David; daughter Kathie; stepchildren Rick, Sheila, Shawn; grandchildren Jessie, Jennifer, Dustin, Timmy, Amy, and Kyle; step-grandchildren Lori, Kimberly, Dustin, Paige, Hope, Kendall, and Devin.

Ed was preceded in death by his father Edwin Larson, and brother Terry Larsen.

Private services have been held with the celebration of his life.
