Gladys Jourdan, 98, longtime Congress resident passed away of causes related to age on Friday, Nov. 10. Mrs. Jourdan was born Dec. 20, 1907 in Brown County, Ill. She was one of 11 children. She moved to Arizona in the late 1930s.

Granny was an excellent homemaker and wonderful cook. She pieced beautiful quilts and crocheted treasured gifts for her family.

Survivors include two sisters; one brother and their families; a daughter-in-law Shirley Jourdan; grandsons Bruce (Cheryl), Les, and Mark (Sue) Jourdan; granddaughter Charlotte (David) Seedenburg; great-grandchildren Heather Koenig, Derek Seedenburg and Marissa Jourdan; step-great-great-grandchildren Kevin and David Brackett, Kelli, Jacob and Jennifer Johnson.

She was preceded in death by her husband Dewey in 1982 and son Charles and seven siblings. Private family services will be held at the Wickenburg Municipal Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of Wickenburg Funeral Home.

Survivors include sisters Nina Fuller and Virginia Foster; brother Wayne Kurfman; daughter-in-law Shirley Jourdan; grandsons Bruce (Cheryl), Les and Mark (Sue) Jourdan; granddaughter Charlotte (David) Seedenburg; great-grandchildren Heather Koenig, Derek Seedenburg and Marissa Jourdan; step-great-granddaughters Brandi Abbot and Kim (Jack) Johnson; step-great-great-grandchildren Kevin and David Brackett, Kelli, Jacob and Jennifer Johnson.

She was preceded in death by her husband Dewey in 1982 and son Charles and seven siblings.

Graveside services were held Saturday (Nov. 19) at 11 a.m. at the Wickenburg Municipal Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Wickenburg Funeral Home.
