Dey, age 74, were held Saturday (Dec. 9) at 11 a.m. at the Redeemer Lutheran Church with Pastor Greg Werdin officiating. Bill passed away Dec. 6 in Prescott. Bill was born February 13, 1932 in St. Paul, Minn. He was a baptized, confirmed, faithful lifetime Lutheran, and a member of the Redeemer Lutheran Church in Wickenburg since 1981. He was a paratrooper in the U.S. Army, serving in the Korean War. He married Shelby L. (Jean) Parson Jan. 16, 1954 in Effie, Minn. He worked as a transport trucker and logger for 44 years. He was preceded in death by daughter Terri Wayman, parents Ernst and Emily (Bassett) Dey and a brother David Dey. He is survived by his wife Shelby L. (Jean) Dey of Wickenburg; children Bob “Joe” (Linda) Dey of Big Falls, Minn.; Vicki (Dale) Leinonen) of Cook, Minn.; Jerome (Penny) Dey of Chino Valley, Ariz.; sisters Lois (Howard) Smith of Battle Mountain, Nev.; Fritzi Gunn of Starback, Wash.; Dana (La Verne) Hellyer of Baker, Mont.; and brother Michael (Doris) Dey of Starbuck, Wash. He is also survived by grandchildren Adam (April) Leinonen, Travis (Becky) Leinoenen, David (Nicole) Wayman, Jared Wayman, Crystal (Ed) Powers, Kelly Dey, Jennifer Halloway, Jesse Dey, Matthew (Savannah) Dey, Teri Jo Dey, and Mattea Dey; and six great-grandchildren.
