Maxwell Lee Saunders, 26, died Sept. 23, 2008, in Mesa. He was born in Springerville June 9, 1982.

Max loved life and lived it to the fullest. He loved his job at the Phoenix Zoo; his love of animals was incredible, as was his love of gardening. He was a big brother that was loved dearly by his brothers and sisters and niece.

His family and friends were his greatest love of all.

Max is survived by his parents, Nataani and Jeff Harper and Kyle and Coni Saunders; brothers Thomas, Turner and Jobe Harper; stepbrothers Logan K., Kameron and Alex, Ryan, Riley and Miller Saunders; sisters Talee Jo and Sarah Harper; grandparents Vada Davis and Thomas "Bud" Davis; aunt Talia (Vicente) Ordonez; and niece Isabella Ordonez.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents Lloyd and Dorothy Saunders and great-grandparents Maxie and Glyda Lee.

Funeral services were held Monday, Sept. 29, at the Eagar Stake Center of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Interment followed at the Eagar Cemetery.
