The White Mountain Independent Show Low, Arizona 06/17/2008 Robert "Bob" William Bowers, 79, died June 7, 2008, in Scottsdale. He was born July 12, 1928, in Los Angeles, Calif., to Carl S. Bowers and Thelma E. Sessions. Bowers served in the U.S. Army Reserves. He was a chemist and cargo surveyor for Union 76 and Saybolt, retiring in 1988. He loved riding motorcycles, sailing boats, fishing and hunting. Bob was a senior patrol officer for the Eagar Police Department. He was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was serving as the employment specialist in the Amity Ward. Bob loved his family. He is survived by his daughters, Debbie Bowers and Kathleen Olson of Jamul, Calif.; grandchildren Matthew (Michelle) Wright and Patrick Dotson, great-grandchildren Kodi Wright, Kiersten Dotson and Mallory Dotson; sisters Claudia Bowers of Eagar and Payson and Jeanette Wiltbank of Snowflake; brother Rodney Bowers of Mesa; and many nieces and nephews. Bob was preceded in death by his loving wife, Dell Bowers, and his parents. Funeral service was held Friday, June 13, at 11 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Amity Building, Eagar. Interment followed at the Eagar Cemetery.
