A memorial service was held Jan. 3, 2005 for Judith Watkins, 57. The Lord called her home Dec. 28, 2004 at Peoria, Ariz.

Judi, the beloved daughter of Earl (Shorty) Carter and Dorothy Corrick Carter, was born Oct. 21, 1947 at Bemidji, Minn.

Her early years were spent in Montana. After she graduated from Libby High School with the class of 1965, she went on to complete a two-year nursing course in California.

She married Fred Dunkin who passed away in 1978. They had a son, Timothy. She later married William Watkins, and they lived for the past 30 years in Wickenburg, Ariz.

Judi filled her life with many interests. She loved the outdoors and enjoyed swimming, hunting, fishing, traveling and gardening. At home, she wrote poetry and surrounded herself with books.

She had a great regard for her family and friends and often surprised them with little gifts and pretty hand-made greeting cards. She left her love with many people with whom she shared a great sense of humor.

Judi endured multiple illnesses for the past four years, but she often said she was very lucky. She appreciated the love of her husband, who took excellent care of her and stood by her to the end of her life.

Judi is survived by her mother, Dorothy Steiner of Libby, Mont., father Earl Carter and step mother Mel of Hinsdale, Mont., husband William of Wickenburg, son Tim of Cummings, Ga., and brother Ron Carter of Libby, Mont. and numerous other relatives.

For the gift of her life, we are thankful.
