Ernest Beryle Fife, 79, passed away Jan. 14.

He was raised in Wickenburg and went to grade school in that Little Red Schoolhouse.

In high school summer breaks, during World War II, he and his friends "aged" to 21 years old so they could work in the mines.

During World War II, he served two years in the Army Air Corps. He retired from the Department of Defense. In retirement, his woodcrafts were sought after.

Survivors are his wife of 60 years, Betty; daughter Linda and her husband Ross Campbell; sons Phil and his wife Cherie Fife; Ron and is wife Cookie Fife. Also surviving are six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

No services are scheduled. Contributions in his memory can be sent to Hospice of the Valley, 11301 N. 99th Ave., Peoria, AZ 85345.
