Naomi Jesson, 86, passed away peacefully on Jan. 25, 2005. Naomi was born on March 23, 1918 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

After completing high school, she attended a teachers college. Her teaching career included teaching students in a one-room school house where she and her students rode their horses, walked to school, and cooked their lunch on the wood burning stove in the schoolroom.

When Naomi met and married Howard Jesson, the couple adopted two daughters from Korea in 1960. She was a farmer, homemaker, and mother for the rest of her working days. Naomi was preceded in death by her husband, Howard.

Survivors include daughters Lois Fondren and Ruth Williams, and granddaughters Lauren and Sarah Dwyer. She is loved and greatly missed.

Services and interment were held on Saturday, Jan. 29, at Greenwood Memory Lawn in Phoenix. Donations to the Alzheimer's Foundation are accepted.
