The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ March 2, 2005, p. A9 Wallace Wayne Cherry, 66, passed away on March 3 in Peeples Valley after a lengthy illness. He was born in Rolette County, N.D. on Oct. 4, 1938. He was raised in Idaho, graduated from Post Falls High School in 1956 and later enlisted in the U.S. Army, serving two tours of duty with the 101st Airborne "Screaming Eagles." He returned to Idaho following his military service and started a career in construction. In 1979 he moved to Arizona, settling in Peeples Valley and on February 25, 1980 married Sylvia in Las Vegas. He worked as a carpenter, building many homes in the area and was a member of the American Legion, Bill Taylor Yarnell Post #79. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by wife Sylvia, Peeples Valley; children Christopher Cherry, Wickenburg; Mary Adams, Louisiana; William Pulanco, Mississippi; Montie Renouf, Congress; and Fran Pulanco, Nevada; brother Alf Cherry, Idaho; sister Viola Cherry, Washington; and 13 grandchildren. Visitation will be held March 10, 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Wickenburg Funeral Home, 187 N. Adams Street, Wickenburg. Graveside service will be March 11, 2 p.m., Genung Cemetery, Hwy 89, Peeples Valley.
