The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ March 30, 2005, p. B7 Mr. William E. Walsh, age 77, passed away March 20 in Sun City West, Ariz., due to a lengthy illness. Bill was born in Barrie, Ontario, Canada. He moved to Windsor, Ontario at an early age, attending schools there. He later served in the Royal Canadian Navy. Following his military service he returned to the area and began working as a mail carrier. He moved to Detroit, Mich., and worked for Ford Motor Company as an Industrial Painter, which he did for 20 years before retiring in 1985. He married Carolyn Duran on March 8, 1969. They later moved to Northern Michigan to Petroskey, where he worked at the local airport refueling and dispatching planes. In 1995, the couple came to Arizona, living first in Tucson where Bill worked for Tucson International Airport in Security. They moved to Congress, and Bill began working at the Wickenburg Inn until suffering a severe stroke. He had been ill for the last 10 years. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Walsh of Congress. He is also survived by his children, Frances Walsh of Windsor, Ontario, Canada, Wanda Nguyen and husband Bao of Tucson, Ariz., Barbara VanDerski and husband Mike of Lyons, Mich., Crystal Walsh of Wickenburg, and Jon Walsh of Congress; by sisters and brothers-in-law Margaret and Cecil Crouchman, Barbara and John Ousman; brother and sister-in-law Allan and Barbara Walsh; grandchildren Emily Nguyen and Lam Nguyen both of Tucson, Zachary, Kialey, Jace and Justin VanDerski all of Lyons, Mich. He was preceded in death by parents Arnold and Mae Walsh, sister Claudia Walsh, and brothers Arnold and Frankie Walsh. Private family services were held. |
