Iris Kinney, 70, of Peridot, passed away Monday, March 2, 2009 at Cobre Valley Community Hospital in Globe. She was born in San Carlos on Sept. 22, 1938 and lived her life in Arizona. She was a basket weaver.

Survivors include her daughters, Jana (Leo) Zospah, of Peridot, Rebecca (Lorenzo) Cosay of Peridot, and Verna Sign, of Albuquerque, N.M.; sons, Kilman Hauser of Globe, Daniel Kinney of Periodt, and Darren Kinney of San Carlos; brothers, Sam Hinton, of Peridot and Wilbur "Slim" Hinton of Whiteriver. Twenty-three grandchildren also survive Iris.

Iris was preceded in death by her husband, Donal Kinney in 1992.

A wake was held on Sunday, March 8 at 4 p.m. at the Kinney's Residence in Chinatown.

Services were held on Monday, March 9 at 12 p.m. (noon) at the San Carlos Miracle Church. Interment followed at the Lower Peridot- Six Mile Cemetery.

Lamont Mortuary of Globe assisted the family.
