Franklin Byron Cox

Franklin Byron Cox of Chino Valley, Ariz., passed away on Sept. 7, 2009. He was born to John William and Violet Elba Hesterley Cox on Nov. 14, 1916, in Rocky Ford, Colo.

Franklin moved to Scottsdale, Ariz., in 1918. He attended the Scottsdale schools. He farmed from 1939 to 1970 in Chandler and he had feeder pens in Stanfield, Ariz. He worked for New York Life until 1984 when he retired.

Franklin married Myrtle Ann Yeager in 1939. They had two children, Myrna (Cox) Davis and David F. Cox.

Franklin married Gertrude Gilson in 1979. Franklin had two stepsons, Roger and Sheldon Gilson.

Franklin is survived by many friends and family who will love and remember him.

Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 10, 2009, at Hampton Funeral Home. The burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Yavapai Humane Society.
