Funeral services for Velma Louise Wingate-Green were held Saturday, July 16 at Frey-Wickenburg Funeral Home.

Velma was born Jan. 30, 1932 in Glendale, Ariz., to James Westbrook and Velma Krause Westbrook. She was raised in Glendale and attended schools there.

She was primarily a homemaker but had also worked outside of the home. She was one of the first female auto salespersons in Arizona, working at Goodyear Westside Autosales. She had also worked as a caregiver in the healthcare field.

She is survived by her daughters, Linda Sacucci of Wickenburg and Dee Rhinehart of Wickenburg; sons Dennis Wingate of Prescott and Craig Blackburn of Phoenix; brothers Everett Westbrook of Monterey, Calif., and Ted Van Winkle of Williams, Ariz.; sisters Evelyn June Cartwright and Barbara Ann Melero, both of Phoenix; 11 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
