| The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ September 7, 2005, page A10 Mary Teresa Martel passed away Wednesday, Aug. 31 at Sun Health Hospice in Sun City West, Ariz. Mary was born Sept. 15, 1914 in Charlotte, N.Y., to Stephen and Katherine Gelmas. She was raised in Cleveland, Ohio, and came to Arizona in 1953 and settled in Phoenix. She had worked in the drapery business in the Phoenix area for many years. Mary moved to Wickenburg five years ago to be near her family. She attended St. Anthony's Catholic Church. She is survived by daughter and son-in-law Geraldine and Frank Novotny of Wickenburg; son and daughter-in-law William and Romelle Costanzi of Wickenburg; step-son and daughter-in-law James and Lynda Martel of Phoenix; sister Rose Horton of Cleveland, Ohio; brother John Gelmas of Cleveland, Ohio; 15 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. Private family services will be held, and interment will be in the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona in Phoenix. See Also: Find a Grave |
