| The Arizona Republic, Phoenix, Arizona August 23, 2005 Velma Louise CASEY HAASE, 82, born July 22, 1923. Our beautiful and loving wife, mother and grandmother passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 20, 2005. She leaves her husband of 55 years, Howard; her daughters Michelle SMITH (George) and Janet SOWDER (Don); her sons Michael and Matthew (Trish) HAASE; her six grandchildren, and six great-grand-children. She is survived by her sisters Leona, Veda, Verda and brothers Lewis, Billy, Don, and Gary CASEY. She was preceded in death by sisters Vera, Verna and Paula; brothers Columbus, Dewey and Ernie, her mother, Clarissa, and father, Alex. Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home, 4800 E. Indian School Rd., Phoenix. Funeral Mass August 24, 2005 at St. Theresa Catholic Church, 5045 E. Thomas Rd., Phoenix. Interment at St. Francis Cemetery, 2033 N. 48th St., Phoenix. The Family has requested that in lieu of flowers, a donation be made to American Cancer Society, 2929 E. Thomas Rd, Phoenix, AZ 85016 in honor of her family members who have experienced cancer.
