The White Mountain Independent Show Low, Arizona 09/09/2005 (8/22/1975 - 9/6/2005) Monica Marie Holden, 30, died Sept. 6, 2005 in Whiteriver. She was born in Phoenix, Monica spent her entire life on the White Mountain Apache Reservation. She attended Alchesay High School. In 1994 she married Kent Holden. Monica was a children's ski instructor at Sunrise Park Resort, a teacher's aide at Seven Mile School, a cashier at Bashas' and a restaurant hostess at HonDah Casino. She was very outgoing and loved alternative rock. She also had a great relationship with her mother. Monica is survived by her husband, Kent Holden of Canyon Day; one son, Keith Holden of Canyon Day; her mother and step-father, Arlene and Sidney Burnette of Seven Mile; sister, Jamie Johnson of Whiteriver; and two brothers, Eric Pope and Nathan Burnette both of Seven Mile. She was preceded in death by a brother, Sidney Burnette, Jr. and her grandfather, Marvin Mull, Sr. A wake will begin at 10 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 11 at the family residence in Canyon Day. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Sept. 12 at the Canyon Day Assembly of God with Pastor Marvin Begay officiating. Interment will be in the Canyon Day Cemetery.
