Winifred Kohl Metzer, 85, of Phoenix, Arizona, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2003.

A memorial service was held at Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 3530 N. 32nd Street, Phoenix, AZ. Winnie was born in Rutherford Heights, Pennsylvania, on June 13, 1918.

She and her late husband, Leon, moved to Phoenix in 1946. Winnie taught in the Madison Elementary School District, was a Sunday school teacher, planned many church bazaars, decorated the altar, and was an Avon representative for 40 years.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Elaine and Stanley BRISTOL of Tempe, AZ, her sons and daughters-in-law, Lynn and Ronda METZER of Englewood, Colorado, and Timothy and Susan METZER of Scottsdale, AZ, 7 grandchildren, Tom, Jenny, Matt, Kelly, Collin, Caitlyn, Hailey, and 3 sisters, 3 brothers, many nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions may be made to Aldersgate UMC Foundation or the Alzheimer's Association.
