The White Mountain Independent Show Low, Arizona 02/12/2003 Howard Kinney, 81, died Feb. 5, 2003 in Show Low. He was born Oct. 3, 1921 in Canyon Day and lived in Whiteriver. He served in the US Army WWII from 1941 to 1945. His campaigns were Bismarck Archipelago, Luzon, Southern Philippines and New Guinea. He received the American Defense Service Medal, Philippine Liberation Medal and Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal. He fought for our independence and for the country he loved, also for his fellow Americans and for his relatives. He was special and will be greatly missed. He is survived by his daughters, Celine Kinney, Olphelia K. Endfield. Emmie K. Cromwell, Cardella K. Moses and Bernadine Kinney; sons, Gregory Kinney, Sr., David Kinney and Archie Kinney; sister, Vine K. Ethelbah; brothers, Andrew Kinney, Sr., Minor Kinney and Alvin Kinney; many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Monday, Feb. 10 at Open Bible Lutheran Church in Whiteriver with Pastor Rautenberg officiating. Interment will be in the Canyon Day Cemetery. Silver Creek Chapel Mortuary of Whiteriver handled arrangements. See Also: Find A Grave |
