Frank James Axe was born on Oct. 19, 1918 in Blairsville, Pa. and went peacefully from this earth on Sept. 14, 2009 in Prescott Valley, Ariz.

As a World War II veteran, Frank served proudly in the United States Army and retired from civil service at Luke Air Force Base in 1982 as a locksmith.

Frank is survived by his wife Marie of 62 years; three daughters, Jacqueline Miyabara (Glenn), Barbara Axe, Patricia Goldberg (Gary); and seven grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Yavapai Regional Medical Center Hospice in Prescott Valley.

Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Sept. 26, 2009 at the Prescott Valley United Methodist Church. Burial will take place at 11 a.m. in the Prescott National Cemetery.
