Charles H. (Chuck) Dissmore

Charles H. Dissmore (Chuck) passed away on Thursday, Sept. 17, 2009, at the age of 93 at his home, surrounded by loved ones. Chuck was born Oct. 3, 1915, in Kamiah, Idaho, and was raised there by his parents, Estelle and Harry Dissmore. It was in junior high that the family moved to Lewiston, Idaho, where Chuck attended Lewiston High School and then Idaho State Teacher's College. It was during his five years as a principal in Kellogg, Idaho, from 1937 to 1942 that he married his loving wife of 68 years, Emily.

Chuck worked for Boeing Aircraft Co. in Seattle, Wash., and then White King Soap Co. for 10 years in the northwest. It was with White King that Chuck and Emily moved from western Washington to Oregon to settle in California, where together they raised a son and three daughters.

Chuck was an accomplished musician and an honorary member of the Musicians Association, Local No. 7. He played many weddings and often entertained friends and family with his music.

In 2004, Chuck and Emily moved to Las Fuentes Resort in Prescott, Ariz., where daughter Debbie and grandson Brandon reside.

Charles is survived by his wife, Emily, and daughters Judy Menzimer (Verne) of California, Kathy Hardy (Jeff) of Montana and Debbie Wolterman of Prescott Valley, Ariz. Charles was preceded in death by his son, Robert Dissmore, in 1989. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2009, at Las Fuentes Assisted Living in Prescott, Ariz. Donations may be directed to Granite Mountain Home Care and Hospice in Prescott, Ariz.
