Deanna Jane (Mason) McHaney

Deanna Jane Mason McHaney, 66, of Casa Grande, a longtime educator and school board member, died Sept. 27, 2004 at home.

A celebration of life was held at J. Warren Funeral Services, Cole & Maud The Gardens Chapel, with the Rev. Rick LEMBERG officiating. Ms. McHANEY was born Dec. 22, 1937 in Blythe, California. She was a longtime teacher and principal at Stanfield Elementary School and a longtime board member for the Casa Grande Union High School District.

Survivors include four sons, Neil and Todd McHANEY of Casa Grande, Brett McHANEY of Killeen, Texas, and Scott McHANEY of Casa Grande; a daughter, Shanna UNGER of Mesa; two brothers, Mervin and Paul MASON of Casa Grande; and eight grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward MASON and Ruth BALCOM, and stepfather, Clarence BALCOM.
