Arizona Silver Belt Wednesday, Sep 16th, 2009 Mrs. Wanda Jackson, 81, of Globe, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 5, 2009 at her residence in Globe. She was born on June 28, 1928 in Albuquerque, N.M.., the daughter of Ogle and Mary (Neal) Wheeler. She lived in Arizona for 80 years and was the co-owner of Jackson Claims Service when she lived in Yuma from 1960-1990. She was a member of the CVCH Auxiliary, the Tuesday Book Club, and Beta Sigma Phi. She was an avid reader, loved to watch most sports (she played softball in high school), enjoyed traveling with her husband and had traveled worldwide and collected bells from all over the world. She was also a bridge player and loved their Westie terrier. She is survived by her two sons, Philip C. Jackson Jr. (Christine) of Troy, Mich., and Neal B. Jackson of Lakeside, Ariz.; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Philip C. Jackson, in June 2003. A memorial service was held at 6 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 11, 2009 at Lamont Mortuary Chapel. Interment will be next to her husband, Phil, in the Globe Cemetery at a later time.
