The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ May 26, 2004, B12 Dorothy Karolyn Kearney, 76, of 5309 North Prospect Road died at 4:40 a.m. Saturday, May 22, 2004 at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in peroria, Ill. Born August 3,192 in Dana, Ind. to Orville and Ruth Bonwell Russell. Surviving are one son, Don (and Merilyn) Kearney of Lexington, Ky.; three grandchildren, Donielle and (and Phillip) Koen of Lexington, N. C., and Don Kevin Kearney of Lexington, Ky. She preceded in death by her parents. Dorothy graduated from Bradley University in Peoria, Ill. receiving her Teaching Degree. She later received her Masters Degree in Library Science from Rosary College, which is now Dominican University in Rosemont, Ill. She also studied at Oxford University in England. She was a teach with the Metamora, Ill. School District, and a librarian at Peoria Public Library, and at Bradley University in Peoria, Ill. She was a member of the American Library Association. In 1976 she purchased H&R Block franchises in Canton, Dixon, Galesburg, and Monmouth, Ill., and also Parker, and Wickenburg, Ariz. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 27, 2004 at Woolsey-Wilton Funeral Home in Peoria, Ill. Rev. Walter Wilkins will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home. Burial will be in Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria. |
