Willa Dean (Dee) Strole

Willa Dean (Dee) Strole passed away May 13, 2007, at the age of 83. She was born July 2, 1923, in Polkville, Mississippi.

She graduated high school in 1941 where she was a star basketball player. She was an avid fan of basketball and wrestling until her death. She was nursing at Whitfield Hospital in Jackson, Miss., where she met and later married her beloved husband of 49 years, Leo James Strole. She loved her neighbors and playing bridge in numerous bridge clubs.

She resided in Houston from 1961 until 2007.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo Strole.

She is survived by her son Bobbie Ray Strole and wife Mary Jane of Lake Runaway Bay, Texas; her son Larry James Strole and wife Deborah of Prescott Valley, Arizona; and William David Strole and wife Karen of Spring, Texas. She is also survived by four grandsons and six great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be 11 a.m. Friday, May 18, at Forest Park Funeral Home, 12800 Westheimer. Houston, Texas 77077.
