The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Thursday, May 17, 2007 Felice Schanz passed peacefully from us May 11, 2007, in Prescott, Arizona. She was born in Georgetown, British Guiana, to Frans and Ismayvan Schuphoven. Felice was brought to the United States by her mother as a young woman freshly graduated with honors from her senior Cambridge exams. She received her Bachelor's Degree from Pacific Union College in California and Masters Degrees from the University of California, San Francisco and San Jose campuses. Felice had a great love for children and taught first grade throughout most of her career. Many of her former students and their parents remain close to her. Due to an injury, Felice was forced to retire early from teaching but was able to fulfill her dream of developing her art career at which she became very accomplished. Felice was cherished and will be greatly missed by her loving husband of 35 years, Joseph L. Schanz; three children, Larry (Angie) Tiffin, Denise (Michael) Powell and Kevin (Karen) Tiffin; stepson William (Susan) Schanz; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; cousin Evadne (Pat) Thompson; and many nieces, nephews and distant cousins. Felice had a way of making her family and friends each feel so special. She will be greatly missed and always remembered with light, love and happiness. A celebration of Felice's life will be 11 a.m. Saturday, May 26, 2007, at the Church of Spiritual Living, 3755 Willow Creek Road, Prescott. Heritage Memory Mortuary is assisting with the arrangements. |
