Arizona Daily Sun Flagstaff, Arizona Friday, July 03, 2009 Ellen Darlene Burrage, 80, died Friday, June 26, 2009. Mrs. Burrage was born March 3, 1929, in Winslow, to Charles and Meta Zahnley. Her home in Winslow was only a few houses away from where she was born, and she really liked to laugh about not getting too far away. She lived a full and active life and made many friends along the way. She was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church where she served on the Altar Guild, and was a member of Eastern Star where she held a variety of the offices. She started her career as a teachers' aide in the Winslow Unified School District at Washington School and then worked as the library aide at Washington School for many years. She loved reading to "her children." She was also very proud of the fact that she had been a "Harvey Girl." She loved doing miniatures with her friends. Mrs. Burrage is survived by children Patty (Bob) Kent, Linda (Deke) Moore, Sandy Arroyos, Jimmy (Antoinette) Burrage and Bobby (Sheryl) Burrage; 15 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; her most beloved sister, Zelda Lumbley; brother Charles (Edna) Zahnley; one cousin, Barbara (Emil) Nasser; and many close friends. Funeral services will be at St. Paul's Episcopal Church Saturday, July 11, at 10 a.m., with the Canon Rev. Norman C. Burke officiating. Interment to follow at Desert View Cemetery. Viewing will be Friday, July 10, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Greer's Mortuary Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to one of the following: Susan G. Koman breast cancer foundation, any Hospice organization of your choice, or St. Paul's Memorial Fund. See Also: Find A Grave |
