Arizona Daily Sun Flagstaff, Arizona Wednesday, June 10, 2009 Charles H. Lopez, 68, formerly of Flagstaff, died Friday, June 5, 2009. Mr. Lopez was born in McNary and raised in Holbrook. He worked for the Holbrook Police Department and retired from the Arizona Department of Public Safety. He worked as Justice of Peace for Coconino County and as a Flagstaff City Court magistrate. He was involved in numerous organizations including the Coordinating Council of Mexican American Affairs and the Coconino County Merit Commission. He served as vice president of Mount Elden Little League as well. Mr. Lopez is survived by beloved wife Priscilla U. Lopez; sons Jeff (Kim) and Jody (Roxanne); daughter Monica; five grandchildren; two nephews and a niece; and many extended family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Lilly Lopez, and sister Mary Ellen Kiepke. Viewing is Thursday from 4 to 6 p.m., and Rosary will be at 7 p.m. at Golden Door Chapel, 11211 W. Michigan Ave. (Exit 111th Avenue at Grand Avenue). Mass will be on Friday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas, 13720 W. Thomas Road in Avondale. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to 100 Club of Phoenix for Fallen Officers at 5033 N. 19th Ave., Suite 123, Phoenix, AZ 85015, or www.100club.org.
