Martha Jo Pegues Crosby, 78, died Feb. 22, 2003 in the White Mountain Communities Hospital in Springerville. Death was due to a stroke which occurred the precious Sunday.

Martha Jo was a loving mother to her family and a wonderful helpmate to her husband, Melvin. She dedicated her life to her family, church, and community. She graduated from Baylor University School of Nursing in Dallas, Texas in 1945. She spent a lifetime caring for and nursing those in need, alleviating pain and suffering.

She is survived by three sons; David Melvin Crosby of Logandale, Nevada, Walter LaVerl of Eagar, Rick Crosby of Gilbert; foster son, Leonard Chamber of Texhoma, Oklahoma; daughter, Jeannette Isaacson of Chandler, brother, Dock Pegues of Mission Viejo, California; two sisters, Patsy Elke of Pocatella, Idaho and Elizabeth 'Nan' Johnson of Nauvoo, Illinois and 20 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Friday, Feb. 28 at 10 a.m. in the Eagar Stake building of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Burial will be in the Eagar Cemetery.
