The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ July 28, 2004, p. A11 Serafin Soto Solano, 84, passed away June 23 in San Jose, Costa Rica. Mr. Solano was born June 3, 1920 in Alajuela, Costa Rica. He was a lifetime musician and had traveled to Cuba to perform with his folk band when he was in his 20s. He also was asked by the bishop of his local cathedral to conduct a musical pilgrimage with members of his church. He also served as general manager of Customs in Puntarenas, Costa Rica. He is survived by his wife Maria Teresa Soto and children Arnoldo Soto, Elizabeth Soto, Alexander Soto, Cristina Soto, Dr. Edward Kirk and Olivia Kirk. Grandchildren who survive him include Betsy Soto, Mauricio Gutierrez, Peggy Soto, Jorge Gutierrez, Chakris Kussalanant, Gloria Kussalanant, Jennifer Kussalanant, Alina Soto, Carolyn Soto and Alexander Soto Jr. He also is survived by 10 great-grandchildren. The family thanks everyone who called with concern, and who sent cards and flowers. |
