| McDougal's Caldwell Funeral Chapel Safford, Arizona Michael Anthony Castro, 52, of Safford, passed away on Thursday, September 24, 2009 in Tucson, Arizona. Mike was born on August 26, 1957, in Safford, to Ignacio and Clara Castro. He married Maria Parra on October 17, 1987 in Safford. Mike attended school in Safford, graduated from Safford High School, then EAC, and then University of Arizona. Mike studied art in Europe. He was awarded the Pride of Safford Award, he was an avid outdoorsman, and loved hunting, fishing, sports, art painting, sketching, sculpturing, weight lifting, and loved to be with his family. He was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. He is survived by his wife, Maria of Safford; son, Michael Castro of Safford, and daughter, Mari Castro of Safford; parents, Ignacio and Clara Castro of Safford; brothers, Junior, Eddie, Bobby, and Tony; and sisters, Debbie Gonzales, Susan Castro, and Cecilia Gauna. He was preceded in death by his grandparents. Mass of a Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, September 30, 2009 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Safford. Friends may call on Tuesday, September 29; from 6-8 p.m. at the church with Rosary recited at 7p.m. Interment will be in the Safford Cemetery. See Also: Find A Grave |
