The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ November 3, 2004, p. B7 Lula Ward Richards passed away Oct. 30, 2004 due to complications of cancer. Lula was born to William B. Tipton and Erma Matson Tipton on Dec. 1, 1919 in Caldwell, Idaho, one of 10 children. She graduated in Caldwell, Idaho, in 1938. Lula married Ernest Ward on Nov. 9, 1938. He passed away Oct. 15, 1986. One son was born to this union, Edward Earl Ward, born July 8, 1940. He passed away Oct. 3, 1979. Lula and her husband Ernie owned the Alpine Trailer Park in McCall, Idaho, from 1959 to 1978. She also managed the McCall Liquor Store for 18 years, retiring in 1978. Lula and Ernie moved to Wickenburg in 1983. Lula enjoyed planting flowers everywhere she lived. She was also a great bowler for 50 years. Lula married Elis B. Richards on March 30, 1993 in Las Vegas, Nev. They enjoyed dancing and traveling. Elis passed away Dec. 17, 2002. Lula's extended family consists of Chris and Jeanette Christensen of Wickenburg, Dale and Donna Meyer of Cody, Wyo., grandson Jeff Ward of Culver, Ore., and special friends Fred and Mary Calzacorta. No services are planned at this time. Arrangements were made by Frey Funeral Home in Wickenburg. |
