The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ November 17, 2004, p. B7 Florence M. "Floss" Rossiter, 56, of Oaks, Pa. and formerly of Wickenburg, Ariz., died November 5, 2004, after a brave battle with cancer. Born in Bryn Mawr, Pa., she was the daughter of the late John J. "Mickey" Gavin and Mildred M. Gavin. She was a 1966 graduate of St. Katherine of Sienna High School in Wayne, Pa. She was Senior Class Vice President and captain of the girls' varsity basketball team. Always athletic, she taught aerobics and dance for many years. In 2001, she traveled to Washington State and climbed Mount Rainier. She was employed by Old Livery Mercantile of Wickenburg, Ariz. Floss enjoyed hiking, horseback riding, and Bible study at Mount Hope Assembly of God Church in Wickenburg. Although she only lived in Wickenburg for one year, she found happiness in the desert Southwest. She loved Wickenburg and enjoyed learning the cowgirl lifestyle. She is survived by a son, John J. Rossiter, Jr. and daughter-in-law Jackie Rossiter of Oaks, Pa.; sisters Mildred G. Delmoro of Broomall, Pa., Suzanne M. Gallagher of Havertown, Pa., Mary Ann E. Gerasim of Berwyn, Pa.; brothers John J. Gavin, Jr. of Wayne Pa., and Daniel J. Gavin of Cheyenne, Wyo. Funeral services and interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent in Floss's memory to the American Cancer Society, 800-227-2345.
