Ronald S. Fisher "Ron" of Chino Valley, Ariz., entered his eternal home to be with the Lord on Sept. 25, 2009, after a brief but valiant struggle against cancer.

Born on May 1, 1948, in Oakland, Calif., Ron met his childhood sweetheart, Elaine Martinez, in the seventh grade. The two were married in 1967 and spent their lives together making a home in San Diego, where they raised three children, Ron Jr. (41) of San Diego, Missy (Fisher) May (40) of Chino Valley, Ariz., and Josiah (33) of Dallas.

He is survived by his devoted wife; children; granddaughters Alie, Brooke and Addyson; brother Tom; and sisters Karen, Jeanette and Shirley, all of whom will miss him immensely.

Ron was a man of dedicated love to his family with extraordinary charm and charisma. He was both firm and gentle as he taught his children how to face life with courage, determination and hope.

Ron and Elaine retired to Chino Valley in 2006 to build their dream home. For many years, Ron dreamed of having lots of land, a garden and a place to watch the wildlife and natural beauty of God's creation. He was creative and his ability to make, fix and modify anything was a constant source of amazement to his family. He was a compassionate, loving, incredibly generous man, full of life with an endless supply of wit and humor. His smile, laughter and love will be remembered always by those who were warmed by its constancy.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that contributions be made to The Ron Fisher Memorial Fund, c/o Wells Fargo Bank, 3168 Willow Creek Road, Prescott, AZ 86301, or to any Wells Fargo Bank.

Arrangements and cremation entrusted to the Chino Valley Funeral Home. Please visit www.heritagefuneralchapel.com to sign Ron's guestbook and share a memory with the family.
