The Williams News, Williams, Arizona Tuesday, October 21, 2008 Calvin Church, much loved husband, father, grandfather and longtime resident of Flagstaff, passed away Friday, Oct. 17, 2008 at his home in Flagstaff after a long battle with cancer. Cal was born in Kanab, Utah on Jan. 6, 1928. He married Allene Saul on Dec. 2, 1948 in Flagstaff. After working outside of Flagstaff, they moved back in 1955 where they raised their three children. Cal was an avid hunter and fisherman. He worked for Arizona State Highway Department and Coconino County Highway Department. He was a gifted craftsman, master welder and stained glass artist. He is survived by his children John (Barbara) Church of Flagstaff, Linda (Bob) Collum of Chino Valley and David Church of Helena, Mont.; and 12 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. A viewing was held on Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2008 at Norvel Owens Mortuary. Funeral services will begin at 10 a.m. at the LDS Church, 2401 E. Linda Vista, in Flagstaff, on Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2008. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to Northland Hospice and the American Cancer Society. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.norvelowensmortuary.com. |
