Alta Brinkerhoff Lillywhite died Feb. 4, 2008, in West Valley City, Utah. She was born May 18, 1910.

Alta married Horace Leland Lillywhite Nov. 9, 1928, in the Mesa, Arizona Temple. He passed away Sept. 27, 1982.

She was the mother of 12 children and 465 descendants who have given about 270 years of missionary service for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

She grew up in Woodruff and after her marriage lived in St. Johns, Snowflake and Taylor. She has also lived in Logan and Parowan, Utah, Mesa and, for the past 21 years, had lived with her daughter, Viola, in West Valley City, Utah.

A faithful, devoted member of the LDS Church, she held many callings throughout her long life, including primary president, relief society worker and ordinance worker in the Mesa Temple. She was a state missionary for many years and later in life served a full-time mission in Oklahoma with her husband. They loved missionary work.

Alta loved music and enjoyed playing the piano. Her favorite activity was visiting with her family and many friends. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by five daughters, Wilma Brooks, Viola Thurber, Fern Andersen, Frances Jones and Shirley Mayo; three sons, Robert Lee, Kenneth Leo and David Ross; and sister Jayne Brimhall.

She was preceded in death by her husband, sons Leland Junior, James Owen and Charles B. and daughter Lucy Jane.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 15, at the LDS Chapel at 3963 S. Peachwood Drive (3500 West) in West Valley City, Utah.
