The White Mountain Independent Show Low, Arizona 07/21/2003 Marian Helen Rieck Merrill, 84, died July 15, 2003 in Snowflake. She was born Nov. 2, 1918 in Great Falls, Montana. Her family moved to Mesa and then later to Show Low where she attended and graduated from Snowflake Union High School in 1937. Later she met and married Alden Wilson Merrill (known as Pete) and was sealed for eternity in the Mesa, Arizona Temple. Pete and Marian moved to St. David, where they raised their six children, five girls and one boy. She eventually returned to Show Low and worked in the bakery for Nick's Market. Later, she and Pete moved to open an additional Nick's Market in Joseph City. After retirement, they settled in Lakeside and then in Taylor. Marian has resided at Webb's Adult Care Home in Snowflake previous to her passing. Marian's kindness and generosity will long be remembered by friends and family along with the twinkle in her eyes and her beautiful smile. She is survived by her children, Phyllis Saunders, Lorena Wallace, Kathryn Butler, Sharon McEntire, David Merrill, and Denice Westover and their spouses; along with 26 grandchildren; and 35 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Monday, July 21 at the Taylor Stake Center, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Owens Mortuary of Snowflake handled See Also: Find A Grave |
