LOWER GREASEWOOD — Services for Mary Joe Yazzie, 79, will be 10 a.m., Friday, Nov. 21, at Our Lady of the Rosary Church, Lower Greasewood. The Rev. Flann O'Neil, OFM, will officiate. Burial will be in Community Cemetery, Greasewood. Visitation will be 9 a.m., one hour prior to services. Yazzie died Nov. 18, 2008, in Fort Defiance. She was born March 12, 1929, in Greasewood, into the Red House People Clan for the Big Water People Clan. Yazzie was a homemaker. She was active in the Greasewood Veterans Administration. Survivors include his sons, Oscar Yazzie of Phoenix, Xan Tobeck Gishie of Gilbert; daughter, Priscilla Jimmy of St. Michaels; brother, Kee John Joe of Lower Greasewood; sisters, Helen Clark, Erma Lee, both of Greasewood; 12 grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild. Pallbearers will be Marcus Leonard, Chris Leonard, Jared Jimmy, Derrick Jimmy, Elijah Jimmy, Eric Yazzie. The family will receive relatives and friends at Greasewood Chapter House, following services. Silver Creek Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. See Also: Find A Grave |
