Dorothy W. Bishopp, 88, passed away June 15, 2004.

A woman who spent her life being of service to others as a volunteer for numerous organizations. She believed nothing was more valuable in life than giving of time to others. Dorothy truly loved the desert and was proud to be an original Phoenician.

She was born June 29, 1915 on a 10 acre ranch at 7th Street & Indian School. She graduated from Phoenix College in 1936 and Arizona State University in 1938.

She furthered her education with various accounting courses post-grad. Dorothy was a 60-year member of Beta Sigma Phi, very active in organizations and sororities including the Institute of Management Accountants, American Assoc. of University Women, member of the American Society of Women Accountants, 49 year member of the Girls Ranch Metropolitan Auxiliary, the Scottsdale Healthcare Auxiliary, the AZ Humane Society and the Château de Vie I Townhouse Assoc.

After retirement she traveled for a week each year to a different part of the world, including Africa, China, Hawaii & Egypt.

A celebration of the life of Dorothy W. BISHOPP was held at Greenwood Memory Lawn Mortuary 719 N. 27th Avenue. Donations may be made to your charity of choice, Hospice of the Valley, Girls Ranch Inc or please volunteer your time for a worthy cause.
