Davey Dooley Tortice, 19, died Oct. 18, 2003.
He was born March 31, 1984 in Shiprock, New Mexico. Ever since Davey was born he was special. He was born premature and spent the first two years of his life away from his parents, until he was able to come home. He spent the rest of his life in the mountains.

Anyone who knew Davey knows that he always had a smile on his face. He knew how to make a person feel better, and was able to lift ones spirit.

Davey had many talents: playing his guitar, drawing, and listening to music. He was a recent graduate of Blue Ridge High School, where he played football and basketball. He enjoyed being a part of the Blue Ridge tradition. Davey will be missed by all, especially by his nieces and nephews, who he loved very much.

Davey is survived by his parents, Derl and Bertha Tortice; three sisters, Lorinda (Arvin) Thompson, Jennifer Tortice and Derlene Tortice; half brother, Bryant Cosen; four nephews; one niece; and grandparent, Noddy Tortice.

Funeral services will be held Friday, Oct. 24 at 1 p.m. at the LDS Church in Pinetop Lakes.

Interment will be in the Cooley Mountain Cemetery in Hondah.

Owens Mortuary of Show Low handled arrangments.
