Patricia Ann Gloshay, RN
(March 23, 1942 - February 18, 2008)

Patricia A. Gloshay, RN, passed away Monday, February 18, 2008 in Phoenix.

Patricia was born March 23, 1942, in Whiteriver, the daughter of Jimmy and Agnes (Danford) DeClay.

She graduated from Phoenix Indian School in 1960 and received her LPN from Indian Nursing School in Albuquerque in 1961, RN from St. Mary's School of Nursing in Tucson in 1964 and BSN degree from Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff in 1975.

She worked for the Indian Health Service at Whiteriver Hospital for 36 years, retiring in 1997. She loved to sew and made many camp dresses, shawls and bead works. She also enjoyed word games. She was very active in the community after her retirement. She was a member of the Whiteriver Lutheran Church. She was a former member of the American Indian Nurses Association, WMAT Health Advisory Board and the KNNB Radio Governing Board.

Survivors include two sons, Derald DeClay of Whiteriver and Gene (Marian) DeClay of Phoenix; two sisters, Valita DeClay of Canyon Day and Linda DeClay of Whiteriver; two brothers, Anthony DeClay of Whiteriver and Tim DeClay of Chino, CA; three grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, David DeClay.

A wake will begin at 2:00 P.M., Friday, February 22nd at her residence, 45 N. Sycamore in Whiteriver. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Sunday, February 24th, at Whiteriver Lutheran Church.

Burial will follow at Fort Apache Cemetery.
