LOWER GREASEWOOD, Ariz. — Funeral services for Michael Lee Begay, 39, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 28, at the Our Lady of Rosary Church in Lower Greasewood. Visitation will be at 9 a.m. Burial will be at the Lower Greasewood Community Cemetery. Begay died November 23 in Pinon, Ariz. He was born June 19, 1967 in Ganado, Ariz. into the Red House People Clan and for the Apache people. Begay attended Holbrook High School and ITT in Phoenix. He was a member of the NAC and he enjoyed fishing and horses. He loved to joke with family members. Begay is survived by his parent, Raymond Begay of Lower Greasewood; sons, Hosteen Blackrock Begay of Albuquerque and Kevin Smith of Klagetoh, Ariz.; daughters, Ariel Begay of Albuquerque and Dawnee Begay of Phoenix; brothers, Harrison Begay of Phoenix; Herman Tishie, Manuel Tishie and Albert Tishie, all of Wide Ruins, Ariz., Ray Tishie of Klagetoh, Guy K. Tishie of Nazlini, Ariz., Samanuel Tishie of Phoenix; sisters, Rita Joe and Bertha Smith of Wide Ruins, Verna Thomas of Nazlini, and Belena Six of Sanders, Ariz. Begay was preceded in death by his mother, Helen J. Tishie; father, Kee Tishie and adopted mother Jennie M. Begay. Pallbearers will be family members.
