Herman Dale

GREASEWOOD — Funeral services for Herman Dale, 69, will be at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 29 at the Greasewood Catholic Church. Fr. Flann O'Neil will officiate. Burial will be in the Greasewood community cemetery.

Dale died Sept. 24 in Phoenix. He was born March 14, 1936 in Greasewood Springs into the Tangle People Clan for the Red House People Clan.

Dale attended Fort Defiance and Inter-Mountain Indian schools. He was a certified welder, high pressure steam pipe mechanic, and worked primarily in facilities management. Dale retired from the BIA following 24 years of service. He was a veteran of the US Air Force.

Survivors include his wife, Helen Dale; sons, Justin Dale, Edison Dale, Vincent Dale, Hubert Dale; daughters, Sophena Dale, Sophelia Dale, Geraldine Begay; brothers, Harry Kirk, Elmer Begay, Johnson Begay, Calvin Begay, Sylvester Begay, Clarmie Begay Jr.; sister, Victoria Bitah; and 19 grandchildren.

Dale was preceded in death by his parents, Ludger Dale and Josephine Kirk; sister, Alice White.
