Nelson Lee Terry

GREASEWOOD SPRINGS — Funeral Mass for Nelson Lee Terry, 56, will be at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 22 at Our Lady of the Rosary Mission. Father Flann O'Neil, O.F.M. will officiate. Burial will follow in the Greasewood Springs community cemetery.

Terry died Sept. 17 in Scottsdale, Ariz. He was born July 8, 1949 in Ganado into the Red House People Clan for the Coyote Pass People Clan.

Terry attended Lower Greasewood boarding school and Holbrook public schools. He worked at home, hauling and chopping wood, and herding sheep. He enjoyed pow-wows, gourd dances, rodeos, watching western movies and listening to music.

Survivors include his mother, Mattie Terry; brothers, Al Terry of Greasewood Springs, Pete Terry of Victorville, Calif., Randy Terry of Holbrook; sisters, Dorothy Kelley of Grafton, Ohio, Charlene Kelley of Greasewood Springs.

Terry was preceded in death by his father, Dolph Terry; and brother, Michael Terry.

Pallbearers will be Al Terry, Pete Terry, Steven Terry, Micco Emarthla, Michael Kelley.

The family will receive relatives and friends at the Greasewood Springs Chapter House following burial services.

Tse Bonito Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
