Arizona Daily Star Tucson, Arizona Manuel R. Manriquez, Sr. age 72, passed away September 26, 2009. Born December 2, 1936 in Ray, AZ. He was the son of the late Severiano and Manuela Manriquez. He attended Tucson High School and joined the U.S. Navy at the age of 17 in June of 1954. He was honorably discharged in June of 1962. He worked at several mines in Arizona, Nevada and Idaho. He graduated from the MSHA Academy in Beckley, West Virginia as a Federal Mine Inspector. He is survived by his wife, Caroline Manriquez; his children, Yvonne (Ron) Pendergrass, Diane Trematore, Anne (Chris) Pena, Manuel Jr. (Lisa) Manriquez, Daniel Manriquez and Christopher Manriquez; 18 grandchildren, three great- grandchildren; brother, Albert (Judy) Manriquez Sr.; sister, Amelia "Molly" Burns and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held on Tuesday, October 6, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Margaret Mary Parish Church, 801 N. Grande Ave. Interment to follow at Holy Hope Cemetery.
