Tucson, Arizona - October 5, 2009

Barbara Joann (Barnes) Ross born May 25, 1927, in Tucson, Arizona and died October 3, 2009, in Tucson, Arizona.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Burton and Sarah Barnes, her beloved husband Howard Edward Ross, her daughter Jerrie Lynn Ross, and brother Burton Barnes.

Survived by her sister Elizabeth Jane Erdmann, son Lawrence, daughters Sherrie and Merrie, seven grandchildren, and ten great grandchildren.

Barbara Ross graduated Amphi High School in 1945; she went on to receive her nurses training at St. Mary's Hospital in Tucson, Arizona.

Barbara Ross became a registered nurse in 1948 and continued a life long career as an angel of mercy until she retired and followed her dream to Show Low, Arizona where she has resided for the last twenty years.

Barbara had 82 years of accomplishments too numerous to explain. Her passion for nursing went beyond a job, it was a lifestyle.

She raised her four children on her own after the death of her husband in 1958, and was not only a grandmother, but an inspiration to her grandchildren.

Every day Barbara said that her greatest assets were her children. She said that she never enjoyed raising a family more than hers; through both the good times and the bad times.

No words can ever express how many lives she touched, how much she was loved, or how much she will be missed.

A Memorial Service will be held for Barbara Ross at Evergreen Cemetery on Monday, October 5, At 11:00 A.M. Arrangements by EVERGREEN MORTUARY & CEMETERY, N. Oracle Rd & W. Miracle Mile.
