James William Murray

James William Murray, 77, of Globe, Ariz., passed away on Monday, Sept. 28, 2009. Jim was born in Perth Amboy, N.J. on Nov. 23, 1931, the son of James Francis and Veronica (Vi) Cecilia Murray.

He moved to Globe in 1989 with his wife, Margaret “Peggy” Lucille Murray, after he retired from Kennecott Copper Mines. Prior to moving to Globe, Jim and Peggy lived in Hayden, Ariz. and the Ariviapa areas. Peggy passed away on Jan. 26, 1991.

Jim was an avid hunter and was a lifetime member of the NRA. He also enjoyed fishing, watching sporting events on TV, along with spending time and sharing life’s stories with his many friends. He will be warmly remembered and greatly missed by his family and friends.

He leaves behind his special friend and significant other, Janet Floyd of Globe, Ariz.; daughter, Ruth Hull (Bill) of Tremonton, Utah; daughter, Patti Lavelle (John) of Sewickley, Penn.; son, James R. Murray of Safford, Ariz.; brothers, Donald Murray (Gerda) of Logan, Utah, and Mike Murray (Loreli, of Polson, Mont.; grandchildren, Stephanie Murray-Marcum (Carl), Nicholas Hull (Jennifer), Justin Wetzler, Rachel Murray; and great-grandchildren, Ashton Hull and Clark Murray-Marcum. He was preceded in death by his wife and parents.

A memorial celebration of his life is being planned by his family for 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 10 at Miles Funeral Home, 237 S. Sutherland, Globe, Ariz. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Elk Foundation in his name. We love you, Daddy.
