The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ August 16, 2006, p. A10 Mr. Alfred P. Renfro, age 93, passed away August 13 in Sun City, Ariz. He was born and raised in Seattle, Wash., to Alfred D. Renfro and Beatrice Plaskett Renfro. Al attended schools there and graduated from Bellevue High School. He later enlisted in the U.S. Navy serving from 1935 to 1945. Following his military service he returned home and began working for the Burlington Northern Railroad, where he worked from 1951 until retiring in 1978. He married Audrey Canfield January 21, 1951 in Seattle, Wash. They lived many years in Poulsbo, Wash., before coming to Arizona and settling in Congress in 1993. Al was a very talented wood carver and gunsmith and was known for his wood carving while living in Poulsbo. He was also a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He is survived by his wife of 55 years Audrey of Congress; daughter Eleanor Loftin of Congress and grandchildren Christopher Cerqui, Stan, Bill, Gina, Sandra, Mona, and Gary Jirak all of Washington; niece Julia Silliman of Oregon; and his two faithful dogs Katie and Samantha. No formal services are planned. Arrangements are under the direction Wickenburg Funeral Home. |
