The White Mountain Independent Show Low, Arizona 10/9/2009 Irene Owens Davis, 83, died Monday, Oct. 5, 2009, at Hospice Compassus in Lakeside. Irene was born Oct. 26, 1925, in Latta, Dillon County, S.C., to Lester Owens and Tommie Jane Weatherford. She is survived by her husband, Clarence Davis; 10 children, James M. (Carol) Davis, C. Bruce (Debbie) Davis, Irene M. Austin, Michael R. (Barbara) Davis, Barbara M. (Samuel) Sollars, Starr M. (Daniel) Nicholas, Ernest L. (Lois) Mariner, Brent E. (Lou Etta) Davis, David L. (Michelle) Davis and Terry O. (Kim) Smith; stepmother Susie M. Owens; siblings Randy Owens, Barbara Pratt and Vanne Furlen; 70 grandchildren and numerous great and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; sons John W. Mariner, Byron S. Mariner, Michael T. Mariner; son-in-law Charles M. Austin; and brother Wilford Owens. A viewing will be held Saturday, Oct. 10, 2009, from 9-9:45 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Main Street Chapel in Snowflake, in the Relief Society room. Following the viewing, at 10 a.m., funeral services will be held in the chapel. Interment will follow at the Reed Hatch Memorial Cemetery in Taylor.
