Emma Lea (Aiton) McKenzie

Emma Lea (Aiton) McKenzie, 89, was called home by the Lord on March 13, 2004. Emma was born September 26, 1914 in Clifton, AZ to James Thomas and Ura Bea (Taylor) Aiton.

She had 4 brothers and 4 sisters. Emma married Wilbur McKenzie in 1933 and to that union 4 sons were born. The family lived in Flagstaff where they owned and operated the Coconino Cleaners, retiring to Black Canyon City in the 1970's.

After Wilbur's death in 1989, Emma moved to Mesa where she remained until her passing on Saturday.

She was preceded in death by her husband Wilbur, 2 sons, Robert & Tom, 3 brothers and 3 sisters. Grateful for having shared her life are her two sons, Willie (Jann) and David (Debra), numerous grandchildren, great and great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving is her sister Mary Jo (Gene) Stockdale and a brother, Bill(Peggy) Aiton.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, March 17 at 10:00am at Tempe Mortuary, 405 E Southern Ave, Tempe.

Interment will be in Black Canyon City.

Memorial contributions may be made in Emma's name to Hospice of the Valley for the E Mesa Palliative Care Unit, 6063 E Arbor Dr, Mesa, AZ 85206.
